We are so impressed by the responsibility and perseverance that so many of your scholars are demonstrating during this unprecedented time. To ensure that scholars have a complete academic record to include in their high school applications, 6th-8th grade scholars will receive an end of year academic report in June that will indicate if they earned credit, no credit, or credit with honors based on their participation in remote learning this spring. (We will not be issuing any end of year reports for scholars in grades K-5).
These are not going to be the typical standards-based report cards that scholars are issued quarterly. Please see the template attached. For attendance, scholars will earn credit if they are regularly attending their Crew meetings on Zoom. For academic categories, scholars will earn credit if they are regularly submitting their work. Scholars can earn credit with honors if their work is consistently high quality. Crew leaders shared this information with scholars last week.
Download the attached documents for full information . If you have any questions or concerns about your scholar’s current academic standing, please do not hesitate to reach out to their teachers. Thank you for your partnership.
Here are some of the major dates that we have currently slated for our 20-21 Academic Calendar. We will continue to adapt our calendar to account for federal and state health & safety guidelines set for school re-entry. That being said, we have no plans to shift the first day of school any earlier, and expect to continue observing major holidays. As we approach the school year, we will share a more complete calendar that includes Professional Development days and other special events. Our community continues to show inspiring levels of resiliency and flexibility in these unprecedented times.
