Ms. Lorenzen grew up in Leominster, MA as a first generation American and the oldest of four children. Her parents were French Canadian immigrants, from New Brunswick, Canada. She stayed close to home for college, attending Fitchburg State (which was designated a college at the time but has since become a university). Ms. Lorenzen has taught 4th and 5th grade and served as a math specialist for grades K-5 in Littleton, MA for two years. She spent seven years teaching in Texas, where she had the humbling honor of being recognized as the Keller Independent School District’s Elementary Teacher of the Year, out of 28 campuses district wide. She returned to Massachusetts in 2015 and joined the Alma crew as a founding sixth grade teacher. She has been recognized as a Master Teacher and also serves as the Middle School Expedition Chair.
