Douglass Kindergarten Stepping Up Ceremony

Ceremony Information:

When: Thursday, June 18th, 2026, 10:00AM - 11:00AM

Where: Alma del Mar Frederick Douglass Campus, 767 Church St., New Bedford, MA

Who: Our upcoming 1st grade class and their families!

What about siblings?

By 6/16/26 families must notify the front office to ensure dismissal of siblings to attend the event. If the front office is not notified prior to 6/16/26 siblings cannot attend the graduation and will be dismissed at 3:30PM as usual.

Where will the Kindergarten Stepping Up Ceremony take place?

The Stepping Up Ceremony will take place in the gymnasium
Gym doors open at 9:45 AM and close at 10:00 AM. Families will be directed to the gym side doors.

When you arrive, please park in the Alma del Mar parking lot at 767 Church St., New Bedford, MA. Additional parking is available at the Fisher College Parking lot and at the Christian Fellowship Center at 822 Church St. (please park on the right side of the building not on the reserve & staff parking side) Handicap parking is available at the Douglass Campus, 767 Church St., New Bedford, MA.

How many family members can attend graduation?

Each scholar’s family will be limited to 4 pre-assigned tickets for the event. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.

What should my Kindergartener wear to the ceremony?

Scholars are allowed to wear semi-formal clothing. No jeans.
Please urge scholars to come to school already dressed; there is limited time for scholars to change outfits.
