Alma 8th Graders to host Civic Action Fair on April 10th

8th Grade Civics Fair

Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 5:00 - 6:30 pm

Douglass Campus, 767 Church Street

What Families Need to Know:

  • 8th Grade Scholars will not be dismissed at the end of the school day. 
  • Ottiwell 8th grade scholars will be transported by Alma staff to Douglass. They will not be transported back to the Ottiwell Campus.
  • All 8th grade scholars will be supervised after school as they prepare for the fair in the Douglass gymnasium.
  • Dinner will be provided for all 8th Grade Scholars. 
  • K-7th Grade Scholars will dismiss normally, unless you notify our front office by 11:00 AM of any changes. The Afterschool Program will run as usual.

8th Grade Attendance is Mandatory; 8th Grade Scholars must remain at their booth for the entirety of the fair (until 6:30 pm)

  • All 8th Grade Scholars must be picked up from the Douglass Campus by 6:45 pm. There will be no busing after the fair.
  • Families are welcome to arrive any time between 5:00 - 6:30 pm, but are strongly encouraged to also visit other scholars’ booths to learn about their civics research. 

Parking:

  • Handicap parking spaces will be increased and marked clearly. Please be considerate of other community members when navigating the parking lot.
  • For your safety, please do not park along the outer loop (bus/traffic lanes) of the parking lot, or along Church Street. 
  • Additional parking available behind Fisher College, 777 Church Street. Please use the marked walking path through the gate to make your way to the rear entrance of Douglass.
