What made you decide to join the Crew at Alma?
The Associate Teacher position seemed like a perfect fit for myself for where I am in my education journey. I hope to learn from the staff and students and become the best educator that I can be.
What do you hope to contribute to Alma?
I hope to become an integral part of the Alma community. I hope to be someone that students can learn from and count on and confide in. I hope to become a better educator every day and develop the skills that are necessary to become an amazing teacher.
What teacher made a difference in your life, and how?
Mr. Leclaire, my high school shop teacher always taught us respect and perseverance. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, and when his students were faced with difficult challenges he would use the phrase “Improvise, Adapt and Overcome”, which I still use and appreciate today.
Why did you become involved in education?
I felt that it has always been my calling to be involved in education. When I got my first job in education in 2022 it really changed the way that I saw and felt about going to “work”. It felt like a duty that I was meant to be involved in and not just a job.
Where did you go to college or post-secondary school and what did you like about it?
Bridgewater State University. I enjoyed the flexibility or college and the relationships that I built with other students and staff.
What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is meatloaf with vegetables.
What is your favorite book?
The book that made an impact on myself as a student and a reader when I was in school was Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. Reading this book piqued my interest in history and eventually lead me to getting my degree in history.
