What made you decide to join the Crew at Alma?
I was drawn to Alma because of the combination of both academics and joyful learning that stood out. I wanted to work at a place where children were both challenged but also celebrated. I love how close Alma values building strong relationships with scholars, families and the wider community. I truly think that's how students thrive!
What do you hope to contribute to Alma?
I hope to contribute to Alma by bringing my dedication, creativity, and commitment to educational equity into everything I do. I aim to help create a classroom environment where all scholars feel valued, challenged, and supported to reach their full potential.
What teacher made a difference in your life, and how?
My 4th grade teacher made a big difference in my life because they made me feel seen and important. They were kind, patient, and always encouraged me, even when I was struggling. They made learning fun and helped me believe that I was smart and could do hard things. That year helped me feel more confident, and I still remember how they made me feel cared for and capable.
Why did you become involved in education?
I became involved in education because I want to make a difference in children’s lives, just like my teachers did for me. I believe every child deserves someone who believes in them, challenges them, and supports them. I love helping students grow, not just in academics, but also in their confidence. Being apart of students' lives is something I find so special.
Where did you go to college or post-secondary school and what did you like about it?
Bristol Community College & Walden University. What I liked about my college was the sense of community and support. The professors cared about our success, and I felt like I was really learning and growing; not just in the classroom, but as a person. I also liked meeting people from different backgrounds and being part of something that helped prepare me for my future.
