What made you decide to join the Crew at Alma?
I decided to join the Crew at Alma del Mar because I’ve heard great things about the school, especially how dedicated and supportive the staff is. It’s also right in my hometown, which makes it even more special to me. I’m excited to be part of a school that’s doing meaningful work and where I can keep growing while helping students succeed.
What do you hope to contribute to Alma?
I hope to contribute a lot of support and encouragement to the students. I want to help create a positive space where they feel comfortable and motivated to learn. Being someone they can rely on and helping them grow is really important to me.
What teacher made a difference in your life, and how?
Mrs. Sioch, my elementary school teacher, had a big impact on me. She taught me not to give up when things got tough and helped me develop a love for learning. Her constant encouragement and the way she made learning fun really stuck with me.
Why did you become involved in education?
I’ve always known I wanted to work with kids. I love their energy, curiosity, and how excited they are to learn new things. Working in a school has been a goal of mine for as long as I can remember.
Where did you go to college or post-secondary school and what did you like about it?
Bridgewater State University. I liked that it gave me a lot of hands on experience with the basics of education. I also enjoyed doing observation hours at different elementary schools in my hometown, it was a great way to see what teaching is really like!
