Are you a parent or guardian curious about the educational programs at Alma? Whether your child is transitioning to high school with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or a 504 plan, or you're seeking support for multilingual learners, Alma has resources to help you navigate these paths.
Special Education Program Insights
On October 8, from 5:30 to 6:00 pm, join the Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) for an insightful session on transitioning to high school with an IEP or 504 plan. This is a great opportunity to meet other families of scholars who receive special education services and share experiences and advice.
Multilingual Learner Support
Following the SEPAC meeting, from 6:00 to 6:30 pm, a guest expert will discuss the differences between Multilingual Learner (MLL) status and speech diagnosis. This session, organized by the English Learner Parent Advisory Council (ELPAC), aims to clarify these distinctions and provide valuable insights.
Enjoy and Engage
Both meetings will be held at the Alma Family Center at Fisher College, located at 777 Church St. To make your experience more enjoyable, pizza, snacks, and drinks will be provided.
Future Meetings
If you can't make it to the October meeting, mark your calendar for future dates: November 19, January 7, February 25, April 8, and May 20. Each session promises to offer valuable information and community support.
Join us to learn, connect, and enjoy some delicious food while supporting your child's educational journey!
